A FAKE police officer on Monday was arrested inside a police headquarters in General Santos City.
City police director Col. Nicomedes Olaivar Jr. identified the suspect as “Eddie,” who was spotted wearing a police uniform at the parking area of Camp Fermin Lira Jr. around 3 p.m. Monday.
Real police officers became suspicious as the suspect’s uniform did not match the official attire for the day.
Upon questioning, the man admitted he was not a cop and revealed that he had purchased the uniform, complete with decorative medals and insignias, from an online store.
“Eddie” was immediately taken into police custody, facing charges for usurpation of authority and illegal use of uniforms and insignias under the Revised Penal Code.
