HOSTAGE-TAKING INSIDE MALL IN LIPA CITY, BATANGAS. A 28-year-old man armed with a knife takes a saleslady hostage at a gadget store inside a mall in Lipa City, Batangas on Tuesday. The suspect, a resident of San Jose, Batangas, said someone was about to kill him. The hostage drama went for around three hours until the suspect was subdued by responding personnel of the Lipa Component City Police Station led by Lt. Col. Rix Supreme Villareal. Charges for serious illegal detention and violation of the Omnibus Election Code for possession of a deadly weapon were filed against the arrested suspect.
