JOB seekers, here’s good news for you!
At least 72,000 job vacancies are up for grabs in the upcoming nationwide job fairs by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on June 12, Independence Day.
According to DOLE, at least 800 employers from the industries of manufacturing, retail, BPO, accommodation, and financial/insurance activities are set to participate in the event.
Among the top vacancies include production operators, sales clerks, call center representatives, service crews, and microfinance officers.
DOLE Bureau of Local Employment head Assistant Secretary Patrick Patriwirawan Jr. is inviting everyone to go to their online job matching portal — PhilJobs — where you can see job vacancies to be offered on Independence Day.
He advised job seekers to reach out to their nearest Public Employment Services Office (PESO) or DOLE regional or field offices to access the full list of venues, participating employers, and available job roles.
Meanwhile, the DOLE official reminded fresh graduates that they can access pre-employment documents for free under the First-Time Jobseekers Assistance Act (RA 11261).
The law ensures that fresh graduates don’t have to pay for common pre-employment requirements like NBI clearances, barangay clearances, and PSA birth certificates.
