FIVE policemen from the Angeles City Police Office accused of stealing P14 million in cash from the house of a private contractor in Porac, Pampanga were ordered relieved from theirs posts.
A police major, two staff sergeants and two corporals, all assigned at the Angeles City Police Office Station 2, were linked to the 14 million robbery in Bgy. Sta. Cruz, Porac, Pampanga on Nov. 25.
Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. . Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. said the PRO3 fully commits to the PNP focused agenda on integrity monitoring, ensuring that professionalism, accountability, and public service are upheld without compromise.
The official said that following the reported burglary in Porac, the accused police personnel were relieved from their posts as a standard procedure while the investigation is ongoing.
According to Peñones, a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) was created to conduct a deeper probe into the incident and ensure an airtight case.
He said all concerned units are securing evidence, validating timelines, and reviewing relevant information to establish full accountability.
“PRO3 draws the line clearly: any police officer who abuses the badge will face criminal and administrative charges. Walang palusot. Any misconduct in Central Luzon will not be tolerated,” the Central Luzon top cop said.
“Regarding reports of alleged police involvement in Angeles City, PRO3 will exert full effort to determine the extent of personnel participation. Initial actions have been taken to ensure accountability, and measures will continue to be pursued to file cases once the investigation is complete, the official said.
“The public is assured that transparency, integrity, and professionalism remain non-negotiable in PRO3,” Peñones added.
The accused cops are now under restrictive custody at the Personnel Holding Area at Camp Lt. Tomas Pepito in Angeles City.
Earlier, victim Ma. Dabbie Lacson, 39, of Bgy. Sta. Cruz, Porac, told police that three men entered their house and forced her, and her three house companions, including two children, into the comfort room.
The suspects then fled on two scooter-type motorcycles.
Upon checking the house, Lacson said she discovered that the drawer of a built-in cabinet in the master’s bedroom on the first floor had been forcibly opened and an estimated P14,000,000 in cash was missing.
Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., acting chief of the Philippine National Police, has ordered an in-depth investigation into the incident.
