A LIFELESS female infant on Saturday was found floating in a creek in Bgy. Caingin, Malolos City, Bulacan.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr. showed that Jeffrey Esguerra, a 46-year-old resident of Soliman St., Bgy. Caingin, Malolos City, informed authorities about the discovery of a dead baby in the creek.
Responding lawmen found the body of a female infant in a supine position in the water, with the placenta and umbilical cord still attached on it.
The Bulacan Forensic Unit was requested to process the crime scene and conduct further examination to determine the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death.
Police are investigating the identity of the mother of the baby.
In coordination with the Malolos City Social and Development Office and the barangay health workers, authorities initiated record checks of pregnant women in the barangay to help identify the possible perpetrator of the gruesome crime.
