PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administered the oath of office to former Tourism Secretary Ma. Esperanza Christina Garcia-Frasco as Presidential Adviser for Sustainable and Resilient Communities (SRC) during a ceremony held at the Malacañan Palace on Wednesday.
President Marcos congratulated Frasco on her appointment and expressed confidence that under her leadership, the SRC will foster stronger collaborations with local government units, noting Frasco’s background in promoting sustainable local development, and implementing national programs at the local level.
Frasco served as Secretary of the Department of Tourism (DOT) from 2022 to 2026. Prior to her appointment, she was elected mayor of the municipality of Liloan from 2016 to 2022.
She also worked as a professor at the University of San Carlos School of Law from 2008 to 2016, and as a senior associate at Romulo Law Offices from 2007 to 2016.
Frasco earned her Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Management, Major in Legal Management, from Ateneo de Manila University.
She passed the Philippine Bar examination in 2007.
