INTERPOL ISSUES RED NOTICE VS ATONG ANG

DEPARTMENT of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Friday (April 17, 2026) confirmed that a red notice has been issued by the International Police Organization (Interpol) against fugitive-businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang.

Ang is being accused of masterminding the disappearance of more than 30 “sabungeros” four years ago.

An Interpol notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.

Remulla said the Interpol red notice was issued this week.

The DILG head said Ang was earlier spotted in Calabarzon region.

He added that the elusive businessman moves to different hideouts every three to five days to evade arrest.

Over 30 cockfighting aficionados from Laguna, Batangas, Bulacan, Rizal and Manila went missing between April 2021 and January 2022.

Whistleblower Julie “Dondon” Patidongan alleged that police officers were among those responsible for the abduction and killing of the missing “sabungeros.”

He also tagged Ang as the alleged mastermind in the  disappearances.

Ang strongly denied the allegations.
