THE Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon) has welcomed the latest batch of police recruits during the oathtaking and turnover ceremony held on Monday in Camp Vicente Lim, Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna.
The 400 police recruits, comprising of 286 males and 114 females, took their oath after more than two months of recruitment process.
The selection procedure has been rigorous and comprehensive, reflecting the Police Regional Office Calabarzon’s commitment to ensuring that its members are of the highest caliber.
Through the PRO4A Recruitment and Selection Service, the police recruits undergone a meticulous selection process that assessed each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and aptitude for the demanding responsibilities of a police officer.
The recruitment process comprised several stages, including Application and Screening, where the prospective candidates submitted their applications, which underwent thorough scrutiny to ensure compliance with the set criteria; Written Examination in which they faced a comprehensive written examination to assess their knowledge in various areas such as law, ethics, and critical thinking; Physical Fitness Test, where they underwent a series of physical fitness assessments to evaluate their stamina and overall physical preparedness; Background Investigation to ensure their integrity and reliability of each candidate; Medical and Psychological Evaluation, where candidates underwent thorough medical examinations to ascertain their physical health, and psychological evaluations were conducted to assess their mental and emotional fitness for the demanding role of a police officer; and Panel Interviews, where successful candidates from the previous stages participated in panel interviews, where their interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to public service were carefully evaluated.
The oathtaking ang turnover ceremony served as symbolic moment where the recruits pledge their commitment to uphold the law, protect the community, and serve with integrity.
Regional Director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas represented by the Deputy Regional Director for Operations Col. Roel Rodolfo welcomed the newest members of Team Calabarzon and reminded them on the significance of responsibility, accountability, and resilience.
“As you take your oath today, remember that you are not just joining a force; you are becoming a beacon of hope, a symbol of justice, and a guardian of peace. May your journey be filled with purpose, your actions be guided by responsibility and accountability, and your spirit be resilient in the face of challenges,” said the regional director in his message.
Meanwhile, Rodolfo expressed his gratitude to the civilian members of the screening committee represented by Dr. Carina S Cruz of the Department of the Interior and Local Government 4A, and attorney Glocyphine A. Chavez-España of the National Police Commission 4A and Dr. Freddie B Bulauan of the Commission on Higher Education 4A.
The police recruits were officially turned over to the Regional Training Center 4A and will embark on an intensive six-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course, where they will receive training in law enforcement procedures, community policing, conflict resolution, and other essential skills.
