
THREE members of a family, including a bed-ridden man, on Thursday night died in a fire that razed their house in Malate, Manila.
Police said the victims were a 47-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman and her sister, 8, all residents of San Isidro St., Singalong, Malate.
The bodies of the siblings were found inside the comfort room whlle the bed-ridden man on the second floor of the house.
Arthur Canonizado, the father of the bed-ridden man, told probers that he was feeding his son on the second floor when he heard his grandchildren screaming and shouting that the house was on fire.
The old man hurriedly went downstairs as the blaze engulfed the entire house. He failed to rescue his son and grandchildren who were trapped inside the burning house.
An investigation showed the fire started at 6:18 p.m. on Thursday and was declared fire out at 8 p.m. on the same day.
Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
