JOINT members of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Bulacan police and the Baliwag City Police Station on Thursday arrested a village watchman in a gun buy-bust operation in Baliwag City, Bulacan.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. identified the suspect as alias “Vic,” a 45-year-old tanod.
Police said the suspect was caught while selling one cal. .38 revolver for P3,000 in Bgy. Tangos, Baliwag City.
Also seized from the suspect were two cal. .38 ammunition, an improvised shotgun, an improvised cal. .22 pistol, four 12-gauge ammunition, one cal. .22 magazine, one black holster, a shoulder bag, one Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle with plate number 4874 CQ, one genuine P1,000 bill and two P1,000 boodle money.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and ammunition were filed against the arrested suspect.
Hidalgo lauded the operating teams, saying this accomplishment signifies the commitment of the PRO3 to account all loose firearms and uphold the provisions of the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition as well as ensure the safety of the community.
