
TWO house helpers on Wednesday died in a fire that hit a condominium building on Ongpin St. in Binondo, Manila.
The victims were trapped in a burning unit on the 35th floor of the building, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
Initial investigation showed they died from suffocation.
The owner of the unit and two of her relatives were able to escape the raging blaze.
The fire that struck the 56-storey Anchor SkySuites started at 3:25 a.m. on Wednesday and was extinguished at 4:51 a.m..
Investigation is ongoing on what started the blaze.
The BFP placed the cost of fire damage at P4.5 million.
