THE Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC)–Bicol has expressed support for TV host Vice Ganda’s recent remark about an alleged “bulok” school in Sorsogon.
According to TDC-Bicol, what Vice Ganda said reflects the grim reality faced by many public school teachers and students across the country.
According to Adtoon, the lack of learning materials, dilapidated classrooms, and inadequate facilities continue to hamper the delivery of quality education in public schools.
The TDC-Bicol spokesperson lamented that a huge portion of the national budget is lost to corruption and inefficiency, depriving the Filipino people, especially the poor taxpayers, of the services they rightfully deserve.
TDC–Bicol called on the government to fulfill its constitutional duty to fund and support public education.
Aside from the immediate fulfillment of the needs of the education sector and the effective prosecution of crooks in government, TDC–Bicol also urged the government to grant the ₱15,000 across-the-board salary increase for public school teachers.
