JOINT operatives seized some P1.15 million worth of suspected illegal cooking oil products secretly stored in a warehouse in Tarlac City, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 3 (CIDG RFU3) chief Col. Grant Gollod said Sunday.
According to Gollod, joint operatives of the CIDG Tarlac Provincial Unit and the Tarlac City police on Thursday carried out the operation dubbed “Oplan Megashopper” at 4G&S General Merchandise and Warehouse located in Bgy. San Rafael, Tarlac City.
The raid was based on a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 Tarlac City for alleged violation of Section 11 (a) and (k) of Republic Act 9711 otherwise known as the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.
The subject of the warrant identified as alias “Que,” the owner of the establishment, was not around when operatives arrived.
Seized were various documents and items, including one bundle of used delivery receipts, a bundle of unused sales invoices, one bundle of unused delivery receipts, a bundle of transaction records/notes, a Barangay Business Clearance, a Samsung tablet, a mobile thermal printer, eight small plastic bottles containing cooking oil, 35 plastic containers containing cooking palm oil, 500 plastic containers containing cooking palm oil, 194 plastic containers containing cooking coconut oil, and 50 plastic containers containing an undetermined cooking oil.
Police said the total estimated market value of the seized cooking oil products amounted to P1,152,492.
All seized items were brought to the CIDG Tarlac Provincial Field Unit Office in Camp Macabulos, San Vicente, Tarlac City for proper documentation and disposition.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9711 are being readied for filing in court against the owner of the establishment.
