A BUSINESSWOMAN and widow of a former village chief who was reported missing since February 12 on Monday was found dead and buried in her own compound in Angeles City, Pampanga.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr. by the Angeles City police identified the victim as Maria Teresa Mamac, a 58-year-old widow, and a resident of Bgy. Balibago, Angeles City.
Mamac was the wife of the late Rodelio Mamac, former village chief of Bgy. Balibago.
She was reported missing since February 12.
Police are now searching for the family’s longtime driver as a person of interest in the case.
Personnel of the Angeles City Police Station 4 conducted a search at the victim’s property and with the help of a K-9 dog found the body of the victim buried near a septic tank beside a former piggery within the family compound.
The remains of the victim were positively identified by her children as their missing mother.
Police said the body will undergo an autopsy to determine the exact cause and time of the victim’s death.
Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding Mamac’s death.
