{"id":10027,"date":"2024-11-15T07:22:53","date_gmt":"2024-11-14T23:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=10027"},"modified":"2024-11-15T07:22:54","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T23:22:54","slug":"metro-mayors-approve-new-towing-impounding-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2024\/11\/15\/metro-mayors-approve-new-towing-impounding-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"METRO MAYORS APPROVE NEW TOWING, IMPOUNDING RULES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE <\/strong><strong>Metro Manila Council (MMC) on Thursday approved a regulation that revised guidelines concerning towing and impounding operations of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in the National Capital Region (NCR).<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>MMC and MMDA chair Romand Artes said the revised guidelines under MMDA Regulation 24-004 seek to professionalize and harmonize towing and impounding procedures of illegally parked and stalled vehicles in Metro Manila.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Artes said the revised guidelines are due to numerous complaints regarding the practices of towing operators.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe revised guidelines aim to streamline the towing process, enhance the regulation on towing and impounding of illegally parked and stalled vehicles, ensuring that they are conducted fairly and transparently while protecting the rights of vehicle owners,\u201d Artes said in a press conference on Thursday.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Based on the new regulation, vehicle owners&nbsp; will have the option to have their vehicles transported to their homes, auto repair shops, or gasoline stations instead of being automatically impounded and brought to the Tumana impounding site in Marikina City.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cTowing procedures and towing rates must be clearly displayed at towing vehicles.
