PRESIDENT <\/strong>Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on the nation to remember the victims of recent typhoons and other disasters this Christmas, emphasizing that every Filipino deserves to celebrate the Yuletide Season despite the challenges they face.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In his speech during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Malaca\u00f1ang grounds on Sunday night, President Marcos urged everyone to remember those still recovering from the devastation caused by the series of typhoons and other calamities. \u201cWe all deserve Christmas\u201d, the President said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n President Marcos reminded everyone that Christmas is a time of joy for all Filipinos. It is also the time to extend compassion to those in need, he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cBut as we celebrate, what I would like, is to ask you to hold a thought for all those people who up to now are trying to recover from the effects of the six typhoons that we suffered in twenty-three days. Many of them are still in shelters. Many of them are still in need,\u201d President Marcos said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The President also mentioned the fire victims in Tondo and called on Filipinos to continue the tradition of helping one another.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAll of these people, let\u2019s just keep them in mind and do what Filipinos do. Let\u2019s help each other. And my Christmas wish is that despite everything, every Filipino should feel somehow Christmas,\u201d he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Despite the hardships, President Marcos said the Christmas spirit remains unshakable in the hearts of Filipinos.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He emphasized the importance of setting aside the struggles of the past year to embrace the true essence of Christmas and the joy of family.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" PRESIDENT Ferdinand R.
