MAYOR Crisostomo \u201cCris\u201d Garbo \u00a0of Mabalacat City in Pampanga on Tuesday assured thousands of students, teachers and employees of Mabalacat City College (MCC) that the school will not halt operation.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Mabalacat mayor issued the promise amid speculations that MCC is facing potential closure by January 2025 due to the deferment of its budget.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Around 4,500 students are enrolled in MCC, the sole public higher education institution in the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI want to assure our students and the parents of my commitment that as long as I am the city mayor, you can count on continued success of our students,\u201d Garbo said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to Garbo, education is one of his priorities and one of the fundamental pillars of his governance.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cMCC will continue nurturing our young Mabalaquenos,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Garbo reiterated that education should not be politicized.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cIna-assure ko kayo na hanggang ako ang mayor, hindi pwedeng politikahin and edukasyon.
