SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez called on his fellow Filipinos to be mindful of the sacrifices our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal made if only to achieve freedom from foreign colonizers. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cOn this day, let us not only remember Rizal\u2019s sacrifice but also strive to embody his ideals. Let us serve as light to each other where unity and harmony can be achieved, and where prosperity can be a fruitful harvest in the future,\u201d Speaker Romualdez said. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The leader of the 307-strong House of Representatives also wished that Rizal would up to this day be our country\u2019s guiding light, where he showed his exemplary patriotism by offering his own life so that his fellowmen can be freed from foreign domination.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cTrue love for our country can be shown not just in words, but most especially in actions \u2013 towards the move to provide a better and progressive future for the country,\u201d Speaker Romualdez added. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He noted Rizal\u2019s heroism \u201clive on in every Filipino who works tirelessly to uplift our nation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cWhether in the fields of education, science, governance or public service, we can see how Rizal\u2019s heroism has influenced every Filipino who serve for the betterment of everyone,\u201d the Speaker stressed. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to Speaker Romualdez, \u201cRizal\u2019s vision of a nation that values education, equality and freedom is the guiding light of our legislative agenda\u201d where he makes sure all of the laws the House passes are aligned with Rizal\u2019s vision of a peaceful and progressive future for the society. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cHis ideals of patriotism, courage and commitment to the people continue to inspire and guide us as we navigate the challenges of our time,\u201d he said, noting that during Rizal\u2019s time, he underscored the need for education and caring for one another as foundation of a democratic country.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G.
