THE remains of the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who died in Kuwait have finally arrived in the Philippines on Thursday or almost a week after her family received a wrong cadaver.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confrmed the arrival of the remains of OFW Jenny Alvarado in Para\u00f1aque City at around 5:20 p.m. on Thursday via Kuwait Airways flight KU 417.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac , DMW Undersecretary Felicitas Bay, a team from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Alvarado\u2019s family welcomed her remains upon its arrival.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The remains of Alvarado will undergo autopsy as requested by her family.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cacdac said the DMW is providing assistance to Alvarado\u2019s family.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He added that the Philippine government is in close coordination with Kuwaiti authorities to monitor the investigation of the incident that led to Alvarado\u2019s death, together with two other foreign co-workers.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Alvarado reportedly died due to coal suffocation<\/strong> after inhaling smoke from a heating system in their workplace<\/strong>, but her family believes otherwise based on the state of her co-worker\u2019s remains.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n On January 10, the sadness of Alvarado\u2019s family turned to anger after they mistakenly received the body of her Nepali co-worker instead of her cadaver.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n “Our lawyer is still on the ground.
