THE <\/strong>Diocese of Imus Catholic Educational System (Dices), in solidarity with other Catholic educational institutions, declared Feb. 25 a special non-working holiday in all its member schools in Cavite to commemorate the EDSA People Power Revolution.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The declaration was based on <\/strong>Circular Letter No. 10, Series of 2025 signed by Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista of the Diocese of Imus.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The letter, dated February 21, 2025 addressed to the clergy, consecrated persons and lay faithful, was posted on the social media page of the Diocese of Imus.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the letter, the non-violent EDSA People Power Revolution that transpired on February 22-25, 1986 marked a significant moment in the nation’s history.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n It stated that the struggle to depose a dictator was not borne out of some personal interests or any particular political ideology; rather it emerged from a deep commitment in pursuit of liberty, truth, and justice.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Above all, it was driven by a profound sense of faith in the Lord that constantly seeks what is true, good, and noble, so that future generations will value the Lord’s gift of freedom.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The declaration also aims to instill in the youth the commitment to freedom, justice, and peace, while continually renewing the sense of patriotism.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Parishes, Catholic institutions, religious, and Christian communities were urged to make this day, February 25, meaningful by offering prayers for the country during the Eucharistic celebrations.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The letter also encouraged to initiate programs and activities, which will enkindle not only the love for the Lord but also for the country, most especially now as we discern for the future leaders in the coming May 12, 2025 midterm elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The DICES has a network of 26 diocesan\/ parochial schools in 30 campuses spread across the entire province of Cavite.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n It is under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Alain P.
