AGENTS of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) arrested three Vietnamese nationals accused of illegally practicing medicine in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n PNP-CIDG director Maj. Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III identified the arrested Vietnamese nationals as \u201cDoctors Julie Nguyen, Luna Pham and Ryan Truong.\u201d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The three were arrested in an entrapment operation in Imus City, Cavite.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Torre said that at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, members of the CIDG Detection and Special Operations Unit, with the help of the Naval Intelligence and Security Group, raided the Lavish Beauty Lounge in Imus City, where the three Vietnamese were arrested for violation of Republic Act 2382 or The Medical Act of 1959.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThey introduced themselves as doctors and performed injection of stem cell, hair regrowth, body sculpture , bio stimulation collagen and derma-related procedures to their patients and clients,\u201d said Torre.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n However, the three failed to present the required medical licenses and permits to dispense medical products, operate a medical facility, or practice medicine in the Philippines.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Confiscated from the suspects were \u00a0a huge volume of assorted medicines, medical and cosmetic products and\u00a0 related devices.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Also seized were notebooks documenting medical procedures, prescription medications, and receipts issued by the accused to their clients.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Torre emphasized the government\u2019s policy and commitment to protecting public health and ensuring that only duly licensed professionals practice medicine in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The official said the <\/strong>illegal practice of medicine poses a serious threat to public health.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThis operation is a warning to all criminals, local or foreign, that the CIDG is unyielding and steadfast in catching all of you to prevent and solve crimes,\u201d Torre said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He urged the public to report to their office any illegal practice of medicine and other criminal activities for immediate action.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The arrested Vietnamese nationals were charged before the National Prosecution Office for violation of Republic Act 2382 or practice of medicine without proper licenses.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" AGENTS of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) arrested three Vietnamese nationals accused of illegally practicing medicine in the country.
