PALAWAN — Sumakabilang-buhay na noong Martes si Palawan 3rd District Congressman Edward S. Hagedorn, dati ring mayor ng Puerto Princesa, siyam na araw bago ang kanyang ika-77 kaarawan sa Oktubre 12.<\/p>\n

Ang kanyang pagkamatay ay opisyal na inihayag ng kanyang pamilya sa kanyang Facebook page.<\/p>\n

“With heavy hearts, we inform you of the passing of a beloved friend, brother, husband, father, and public servant, Edward Solon Hagedorn. Our dear Congressman died peacefully on October 3rd, 2023, after 76 years of shining his light into the world,” ayon sa pamilya Hagedorn sa kanilang pahayag.<\/p>\n

Kilala si Hagedorm sa kanyang mga nagawa sa larangan ng pangangalaga sa kapaligiran at turismo sa panahon ng kanyang karera sa serbisyo publiko.<\/p>\n

Sa kanyang buong serbisyo bilang alkalde, ang Puerto Princesa ay nakakuha ng isang reputasyon para sa kahusayan bilang isang destinasyon ng eco-tourism at isang modelo para sa pangangalaga sa kapaligiran sa buong mundo.<\/p>\n

“Cong. Ed’s life speaks volumes, particularly in his role as a champion for the environment, tourism, agriculture, and peace and order. His efforts created inclusive spaces for the community and inspired a collective desire for change. Inihayag sa publiko ni Hagedorn ang kanyang sakit napancreatic cancer sa flag ceremony sa City Hall noong Peb. 27 ngayong taon.<\/p>\n

Nagpahayag ng pagkalungkot at pakikiramay si Puerto Princesa Mayor Lucilo Bayron sa social media sa pagpanaw ni Hagedorn.<\/p>\n

“Today is a very sad day for Puerto Princesa City because former Mayor & Congressman Ed Hagedorn passed away at 4:09 AM on October 3, 2023. Cong. Ed was the mayor from July 1, 1992, to June 30, 2013,” ayon kay Bayron.<\/p>\n
