SENATE President Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Wednesday<\/strong> said that the peaceful and orderly service of the arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC)I against former president Rodrigo Duterte was a reflection of the Philippines\u2019 commitment to upholding international agreements.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Escudero issued the statement a day after Philippine authorities arrested Duterte on Tuesday and brought him to The Hague in Netherlands for the ICC trial.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Duterte was arrested to face charges of crimes against humanity.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The leader of the Senate described the warrant\u2019 execution a testament to the \u201cmaturity, civility, calm, and professionalism\u201d displayed by all parties involved.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe peaceful and orderly service of the Interpol warrant\u2014carried out without incident\u2014reflects our nation\u2019s commitment to upholding international agreements, as well as the maturity, civility, calm, and professionalism of all those involved: our law enforcement authorities, former President Rodrigo R.
