The victims of the fatal crash included French, Croatian, German and Ukrainian citizens, as well as the Italian driver. Two children were among the dead, the Ansa newswire reported. The passengers were returning to a campsite in the town of Marghera after visiting Venice, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

“The people in the bus found themselves surrounded by flames,” said Mauro Luongo, commander of the Venice firefighters team. “The scene we found was terrible. It took about one hour to extract some of the bodies.”<\/p>\n
