THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday officially proclaimed the 12 winning senators for the 2025 national and local midterm elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Comelec chairman George Garcia led the proclamation rites held at The Manila Hotel Tent City.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Based on the National Certificate of Canvass (NCOC), the following candidates made it to the “Magic 12”:<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n
  1. Bong Go \u2013 27,121,073 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  2. Bam Aquino \u2013 20,971,899 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  3. Ronald Dela Rosa \u2013 20,773,946 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  4. Erwin Tulfo \u2013 17,118,881 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  5. Francis Pangilinan \u2013 15,343,229 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  6. Rodante Marcoleta \u2013 15,250,723 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  7. Panfilo Lacson \u2013 15,106,111 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  8. \u00a0Vicente Sotto III \u2013 14,832,996 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  9. Pia Cayetano \u2013 14,573,430 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  10. Camille Villar \u2013 13,651,274 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  11. Lito Lapid \u2013 13,394,102 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

  12. Imee Marcos \u2013 13,339,227 votes<\/strong><\/li>\n

    <\/ol>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    In his keynote remarks at the proclamation ceremony, Comelec chairman George Garcia congratulated the newly-elected senators and acknowledged the mandate they received from millions of Filipino voters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    The senators-elect were called to the stage one by one to receive their certificates.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Reelectionist Senator Marcos was the first to be proclaimed. She was joined by her mother, Imelda Romualdez-Marcos, and her sons, Borgy and Michael Manotoc.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Marcos said her priority bills would focus on food security, job creation and social assistance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Proclaimed next were Senator Lapid, Las Pi\u00f1as City Rep. Camille Villar, and Senator Cayetano .<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Cayetano said she would advance her pet bills focused on health, education, energy, and women and family.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Also proclaimed winners were former senators Lacson and Sotto III.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Lacson said he had already discussed with some incoming and incumbent senators the formation of an \u201cindependent, credible and transparent\u201d Senate in the 20th Congress.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    \u201cKung sino man ang masuportahan, ito lang ang lagi naming ipagdidiinan, kailangan independent tayo, kailangan transparent at kailangan competent tayo,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    According to Sotto, his priority in the Senate is to propose bills that would combat fake news and provision of a 14th-month pay.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    SAGIP Party-list Rep. Marcoleta and former senator Pangilinan were also officially proclaimed as senatorial winners.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Pangilinan is in the United States for his daughter\u2019s graduation. He was represented by his siblings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Tulfo called for unity in the Senate and urged fellow lawmakers to set aside political differences for the greater good.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Senator Dela Rosa thanked his supporters for granting him another six-year term.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Former senator Bam Aquino, who ranked second overall, expressed appreciation to the youth for their support and vowed to champion free education and improved quality of life for all citizens.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    For the 20th<\/sup> Congress, there will be four sibling pairs in the Senate. They are Senators Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito; Senators Mark and Camille Villar; Senators Pia and Alan Peter Cayetano; and Senators Raffy and Erwin Tulfo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    The newly-elected senators will assume office on June 30 and will serve until 2031.<\/strong><\/p>\n
