SENATE President Francis \u201cChiz\u201d Escudero has expressed support to the call of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his Cabinet secretaries to file courtesy resignations to realign government with the people\u2019s needs and expectations.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cEarlier this week, I expressed support for the President’s call to set aside politics and focus on the needs of our people. I am thankful that he has acknowledged that there is a problem, displayed sensitivity to the sentiments of our countrymen, and humbly taken responsibility by addressing it and demanding accountability from those tasked with implementing the vital programs of the administration: the members of his Cabinet,\u201d said Escudero.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Senate leader said calling for the courtesy resignations of the President\u2019s official family is a good start as it highlights the need for the entire bureaucracy to recalibrate and align government initiatives with the expectations of our people.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cFor when government fails to meet these expectations, it is the public who suffers\u2014and I commend the President for taking immediate action,\u201d said Escudero.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the Senate head, the President cannot implement government programs by himself. \u201cKailangan niya ng mapagkakatiwalaang katulong, dapat meron siyang matinong katuwang,\u201d he noted.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Escudero said he views the revamp as a mid-game substitution\u2014a reshuffling of key players based on performance.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe President\u2019s course correction must include his entire political house, starting with his own backyard. He must distance himself from reckless allies who squandered his goodwill and burned through his political capital for selfish ends, he remarked.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Escudero added that there\u2019s much more that still needs to be done.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cSimula pa lamang ito.
