DESPITE obstacles, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. encouraged the country\u2019s young athletes to persevere and pursue excellence as he formally opened the 2025 Palarong Pambansa in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n President Marcos paid tribute to the hard work and discipline of over 15,000 participants from the country\u2019s 18 regions competing in this year\u2019s games.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The President also acknowledged student-athletes\u2019 sacrifices, particularly the challenge of balancing academics with the grind of daily training\u2014often in the face of limited equipment, facilities, and financial support.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cHindi madali ang inyong pinagdaanan. \u2018Yung oras na ipapahinga ninyo na lang dapat, eh gagamitin ninyo pa sa practice at saka sa training. Mag-aaral sa umaga, tapos ensayo sa hapon. Minsan kulang pa sa gamit o sa panggastos,\u201d President Marcos told the crowd of athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters gathered at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Memorial Stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cNgunit, wala sa inyo ang sumuko. Araw-araw, nagsisikap kayong tumakbo nang mas mabilis, lumangoy nang mas mabilis at mas mahaba, tumalon nang mas mataas. Kaya naman, kaming lahat bilib sa inyo, sa inyong galing, sa inyong tibay, at sa inyong dedikasyon,\u201d he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n President Marcos reminded the youth that success is not measured solely by medals, but by their dedication and resilience in pursuing their passion for sports.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cLahat kayo ay kinikilala ng kampeon. Kayo ang pinakamagaling sa inyong paaralan. Kayo ang pinakamagaling sa inyong probinsya. Kayo ang pinakamagaling sa inyong rehiyon. Magandang halimbawa kayo sa kabataang Pilipino\u2014na may pangarap sa buhay at determinasyon upang matupad ito,\u201d the President said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n President Marcos pointed out that sports instill strong values in the youth, such as character, discipline, confidence, and a positive mindset.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Chief Executive\u2019s message resonated deeply with the young athletes, many of whom view the Palaro as not just a competition but a critical step in their journey to become leaders and role models.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" DESPITE obstacles, President Ferdinand R.
