PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the Metro Pacific Fresh Farms (MPFF) on Wednesday, the Philippines\u2019 largest greenhouse facility in San Rafael, Bulacan, which aims to share modern farming practices with Filipino farmers to boost food sustainability.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Operated by Metro Pacific Agro Ventures (MPAV) under the Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), the 3.5-hectare facility aligns with the vision of President Marcos\u2019 administration to modernize the agricultural sector, making it more efficient and contributing to national food security.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In a Presidential News Desk interview, MPAV president Jovy Hernandez said the greenhouse is \u201cnine times more productive\u201d than traditional farms, and that they want to produce consistently high-quality vegetables at affordable prices.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n With its production, Hernandez said the MPFF is a \u201cbig boost to the President\u2019s push to modernize agriculture,\u201d noting the President is fully supporting their initiatives.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cWe were very pleased that he told us that whatever we need for government support, he\u2019s there to support us because he believes in what we\u2019re doing,\u201d Hernandez said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The MPFF uses cutting-edge Israeli technology to grow vegetables in a controlled environment. It employs a hydroponic farming method, using fewer pesticides to produce healthier crops and promote healthy living among Filipinos.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The MPFF greenhouse is capable of producing up to 500 metric tons of fresh vegetables each year.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n While studying selling online, they are now communicating with local supermarkets to distribute their products, Hernandez said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The MPAV targets to build more greenhouse facilities in Palawan, Benguet, and Cavite. The company also intends to share its modern farming practices with Filipino farmers to boost their productivity.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Since its opening in March, Hernandez said they were able to provide 100 jobs for local people in Bulacan.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" PRESIDENT Ferdinand R.
