Arnolfo \u201cArnie\u201d Teves Jr. arrived in the Philippines from Timor Leste on Thursday night following his arrest on Tuesday by immigration officers in Timor-Leste where he sought asylum.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The expelled lawmaker, who was tagged as the alleged mastermind in the March 2023 killing of then-Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo and nine others, is back in the Philippines after being deported from Timor-Leste.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Teves\u2019 hands were handcuffed and his feet were shackled. He was accompanied by authorities to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) plane.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The former solon has been read his Miranda Rights while aboard the plane.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>A National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) personnel &nbsp;told Teves that he was arrested based on a warrant of arrest issued by a Manila court on September 2023 for 10 counts of murder, 12 counts of frustrated murder, and four counts of attempted murder.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The former Negros solon was also informed that another &nbsp;warrant of arrest was issued against him in 2024 by a Dumagute court &nbsp;for murder, illegal possession of explosives, illegal possession of firearms and Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The former lawmaker denied the charges hurled against him.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FORMER Negros Oriental 3rd district Rep.
