BY KEVIN GALANG<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n IN line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to maintain peace and suppress crime, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has intensified security measures to protect the public, especially students, as classes started last Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n PRO3 has set up Police Assistance Desks in schools manned by over 420 police personnel to prevent incidents of violence, robbery, and other forms of theft.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Foot and mobile patrols have been increased in critical areas, especially around schools, colleges, and universities, to manage expected traffic congestion. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The police are working closely with school officials, local government representatives, and force multipliers to ensure a safe and successful opening of classes.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n “We will ensure that the entire PRO3 is active and alert in fulfilling our duty to protect the safety of every student, teacher, and parent. We will not allow fear or threats of criminality to hinder the return to school,” PRO3 director Brig. Gen.
