The incident occurred at around 10 p.m. after torrential rains brought by Typhoon “Crising” and the intensified southwest monsoon (habagat) caused a portion of a riprap wall to collapse.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The landslide left the homes of seven families \u2014 totaling 37 individuals \u2014 uninhabitable.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matibag, fondly called “Lagunanay,” immediately visited the affected site to assess the situation and ensure the prompt delivery of assistance to the victims.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Each displaced family received P10,000 in financial assistance, along with grocery packs and hygiene kits.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The relief operation was carried out in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), and the Zonta Club of Laguna.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cHindi dapat mawalan ng pag-asa ang ating mga kababayan.
