In line with President Ferdinand \u201cBongbong\u201d R. Marcos Jr.\u2019s directive to hold erring motorists accountable, the Land Transportation Office Region VI (LTO\u20116), under the guidance of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, has moved to disqualify a motorcycle rider caught performing a dangerous stunt from ever obtaining a driver\u2019s license.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The incident, which went viral on social media, showed a rider of a Honda Click motorcycle executing the so-called \u201cSuperman\u201d stunt\u2014lying flat on the seat while speeding along Orange Cliff in Don Salvador Benedicto on July 13, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The act drew sharp criticism from netizens for its recklessness and disregard for road safety.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Following an investigation, LTO-6 Regional Director attorney Gaudioso P. Geduspan II approved a resolution submitted by LTO-6 Intelligence and Investigation Unit chief Shiela Mae C. Alulod recommending the immediate disqualification of the rider from securing a driver\u2019s license.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThis act posed a serious risk to public safety and is a blatant violation of safe driving practices,\u201d the resolution stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A Show Cause Order dated July 14 was issued to the registered owner of the motorcycle, who admitted that he had informally lent the vehicle to the rider.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Replying to the order, the rider admitted to performing the stunt, but insisted it was meant only for a photo opportunity, and that he was only traveling at around 24 km\/h. He also expressed remorse and assured authorities he would not repeat the offense.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Under Section 48 of Republic Act No. 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, reckless driving is defined as operating a vehicle without due caution or in a manner that endangers life or property.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The LTO\u2019s database check confirmed that the rider does not hold a valid driver\u2019s license, further aggravating the offense.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n As a result, LTO\u20116 ordered the placement of the rider\u2019s name under the alarm list, effectively disqualifying him from being issued a driver\u2019s license.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The driver will also be fined for violating provisions on \u2018Reckless Driving\u2019 and \u2018Driving Without a Valid Driver\u2019s License\u2019 under Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-01.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In addition, he is required to undergo a Driver\u2019s Reorientation Seminar conducted by the agency\u2019s Traffic Safety Unit.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n LTO chief Assistant Secretary attorney Vigor D. Mendoza II has been at the forefront of the national campaign against reckless driving.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In Western Visayas, LTO-6 Regional Director Geduspan and Assistant Regional Director Jeck D.
