PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. arrived in New Delhi on Monday at 2:20 p.m. local time (4:50 p.m. in Manila) to begin his five-day State Visit to the Republic of India.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The President and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos arrived at the Palam Air Force Station in New Delhi.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n They were welcomed by Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, and Philippine Ambassador to India Josel F. Ignacio, along with other Philippine Embassy and Indian officials.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The August 4 to 8 State Visit, which caps the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and India, is expected to open new chapters in bilateral cooperation in various sectors including maritime security, defense, trade and investment, health and pharmaceuticals, digital innovation, agriculture, and tourism.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n During his visit, the President will meet with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as lead a series of business engagements in New Delhi and Bengaluru. These meetings aim to boost partnerships in key sectors and encourage greater participation of Indian firms in the Philippine economy.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The President is accompanied by several Cabinet members and a high-level business delegation.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The visit is expected to yield concrete agreements and renewed commitments that would further enhance the robust partnership between the two countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" PRESIDENT Ferdinand R.
