PRESIDENT<\/strong> Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday led the launching of the 50 percent discount Beep card for students that can be used for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cNapuno \u2018yung ating istasyon ng mga estudyante dahil ngayong araw na ito ni-launch na natin, inilunsad na natin \u2018yung ating bagong sistema para magkaroon ng Beep card,\u201d President Marcos said at the LRT-2 Legarda Station in Manila.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cIyong Beep card ay para mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga estudyante na sumakay ng tren na 50 percent ang discount. Kalahati lang sa pamasahe ang binabayaran,\u201d the President added.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n President Marcos said the government expedited the processing of these Beep cards, also referred to as \u201cwhite\u201d Beep cards, which are urgently needed by students.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAlam naman natin students are on a very, very tight budget. That\u2019s why we are very happy to be able to launch this new system to give the Beep card to our students. Unang-una, ang processing talagang pinabilis na natin nang mabuti,\u201d said the President.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cDati ang Beep card, bago mo makuha \u2018yung Beep card, seven to 10 days ang processing. Ngayon, three minutes na lang.\u201d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cBasta\u2019t maipakita nila na talagang student sila, na they are attending school, dadalhin ngayon doon mag-imprenta sila ng Beep card, load-an lang nila,\u201d the Chief Executive said.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A P30 fee is required to avail of the discount Beep cards while payment and loading could be made in cash or through digital means like GCash or PayPal.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n During the launch, President Marcos was accompanied by Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez and Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) Administrator Hernando Cabrera.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Upon arrival, President Marcos interacted with the students who were in line to buy the Beep cards.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The President also inspected the processing of the Beep cards in one area of the station.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cKaya ito na po. Congratulations nga sa ating mga nagbuo nitong sistemang ito. And we look forward to the advantages that it will bring to our students \u2013 our young people, our most important asset,\u201d the President said.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Last June 19, 2025, President Marcos ordered a 50 percent discount for students taking LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n On July 16, 2025, President Marcos launched the 50 percent discount for senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) using the LRT and MRT trains.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" PRESIDENT Ferdinand R.
