{"id":16557,"date":"2025-09-23T00:07:33","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T16:07:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=16557"},"modified":"2025-09-23T00:09:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T16:09:39","slug":"2-taiwanese-nabbed-for-illegal-recruitment-5-ofws-rescued-at-naia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2025\/09\/23\/2-taiwanese-nabbed-for-illegal-recruitment-5-ofws-rescued-at-naia\/","title":{"rendered":"2 TAIWANESE NABBED FOR ILLEGAL RECRUITMENT, 5 OFWS RESCUED AT NAIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>AUTHORITIES \u00a0on Monday (Sept. 22) arrested two Taiwanese nationals allegedly behind the illegal recruitment of Filipinos for online scam hubs abroad while five aspiring overseas workers were rescued at the \u00a0Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The suspects identified as You-De Zeng and Hou-Lin Pan were intercepted in a joint operation led by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in coordination with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Philippine National Police\u2013Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC), Bureau of Immigration\u2019s I-PROBES, the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), and the NAIA Task Force Against Trafficking (NAIATFAT).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The five victims \u2014 three men and two women \u2014 were recruited to work in Cambodia as customer service representatives with promised salaries of US$800 to US$1,000 a month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Investigators said the jobs were fictitious and tied to cyberfraud operations that have proliferated in Southeast Asia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J.
