{"id":17621,"date":"2025-11-26T00:39:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T16:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=17621"},"modified":"2025-11-26T00:39:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T16:39:19","slug":"doj-offers-p1m-reward-for-arrest-of-cassandra-ong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2025\/11\/26\/doj-offers-p1m-reward-for-arrest-of-cassandra-ong\/","title":{"rendered":"DOJ OFFERS P1M REWARD FOR ARREST OF CASSANDRA ONG  \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>THE Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday offered a \u00a0a P1-million reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of <\/strong><strong>Lucky South 99 representative Cassandra Li Ong<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ong, the alleged business associate of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, faces human trafficking charges in connection with the illegal POGO (<\/strong><strong>Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator) <\/strong><strong>hub in Porac, Pampanga.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to Justice Acting Secretary Fredderick Vida, the reward aims to gather \u201ccredible, actionable information\u201d on Ong\u2019s whereabouts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cBatid naman po natin sa nakalipas ay may kakayanan sila. May kakayanan na umikot, gumalaw, at makalabas at pumasok ng Pilipinas nang hindi natutukoy,\u201d Vida said during a press briefing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The reward money was offered after Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian told a Senate hearing that Ong had been released from the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City and is now \u201cat large.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vida admitted that authorities are struggling to track Ong. He said it remains unclear whether she is still in the Philippines.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cDefinitely with the current information that we have, we don\u2019t have enough. That\u2019s why we\u2019re offering the reward.
