NETIZENS are raving for an upcoming movie that focuses on two leading characters with Down’s Syndrome to the film \u201cI\u2019mPerfect.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is also a marking of significant step for inclusive narratives within the Philippine cinema. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“I’mPerfect” explores the lives of Jiro (Earl Jonathan Amanda) and Jessica (Anne Krystel Daphne Go) as they meet, fall in love, and pursue the universal themes of freedom and acceptance. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The movie, produced by Nathan Studios Inc. and directed by Sigrid Andrea P. Bernardo, has already generated millions of views and created immediate online conversation when it was selected to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). <\/strong><\/p>\n

Bernardo is the same creator and director of the movie hit \u201c kita kita.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aside from Amaba and Go, I\u2019mPerfect features supporting cast of veteran actresses Sylvia Sanchez, Janice De Belen and Lorna Tolentino, great actors Tonton Gutierrez, Joey Marquez and Zaijian Jaranilla. <\/strong><\/p>\n

A powerful message from the film’s recently released teaser states, \u201cWhen the world says they can\u2019t\u2026 they\u2019ll show us they can,\u201d emphasizing capability and breaking boundaries. <\/strong><\/p>\n

This line, along with the overall concept, led to an outpouring of support and appreciation on social media for a more inclusive society. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Among the comments include: \u201cAww so cute. I\u2019m looking forward to watch this. Sometimes lang ako nanonood ng Filipino movies but this seems to be worth watching.\u201d \u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n

To a more inclusive society!\u201d another added. <\/strong><\/p>\n

While previous Filipino movies have featured actors with Down syndrome, ‘I\u2019mPerfect’ advances representation by placing their story at the core of the film. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The film’s eventual production follows a 15-year effort by Bernardo, who had been developing and pitching the concept to various producers since 2010, yet the original vision remains intact. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI am thankful to Nathan Studios for making my vision come to life, after 15 years, finally, our story will be shared to the world with the aim of bringing inclusive voices to life,” Bernardo said. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The movie will be shown on December 25, 2025, as part of the MMFF.<\/strong><\/p>\n
