{"id":17949,"date":"2025-12-19T07:03:20","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T23:03:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=17949"},"modified":"2025-12-19T07:03:53","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T23:03:53","slug":"nbi-arrests-sara-discaya-over-davao-occ-ghost-flood-control-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2025\/12\/19\/nbi-arrests-sara-discaya-over-davao-occ-ghost-flood-control-project\/","title":{"rendered":"NBI ARRESTS SARA DISCAYA OVER DAVAO OCC. &#8216;GHOST&#8217; FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday night served arrest warrants against businesswoman Sarah Discaya over a P96.5 million\u00a0 &#8220;ghost&#8221; flood project in Davao Occidental.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The NBI said two arrest warrants were served against Discaya &#8211; the warrant for violation of Republic Act 3019 or the Philippine Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and the warrant for malversation raps.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to NBI spokesperson attorney Palmer Mallari, the warrant for violation of Republic Act 3019 or the Philippine Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act carries a bail of P90,000 while the warrant for malversation is non-bailable.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Discaya underwent booking procedures and medical check-up.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>She was brought to the NBI Detention Facility in Muntinlupa after her arrest.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Earlier, President <\/strong><strong>Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said authorities have secured arrest warrants against 10 individuals, including contractor Sarah Discaya, implicated in a P96.5 million \u201cghost\u201d flood control project in Davao Occidental.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>President Marcos said those accused in the Davao Occidental flood control scam face non-bailable charges of graft and malversation and cannot post bail for their temporary liberty pending trial.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAng mga akusado ay nahaharap sa kasong graft at malversation. Ito pong mga kasong ito, hindi po bailable ito.
