{"id":18319,"date":"2026-01-20T00:40:31","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T16:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=18319"},"modified":"2026-01-20T00:40:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T16:40:31","slug":"nbi-arrests-2-ex-dpwh-engineers-at-senate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/01\/20\/nbi-arrests-2-ex-dpwh-engineers-at-senate\/","title":{"rendered":"NBI ARRESTS 2 EX-DPWH ENGINEERS AT SENATE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Monday night arrested two former engineers of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) implicated in the flood control project anomalies.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The NBI served the arrest warrants against ex-Bulacan first district engineers Brice Hernandez and Jaypee Mendoza around 8p.m. Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The duo were arrested while attending a hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Senate President Vicente \u201cTito\u201d Sotto III told reporters that he has authorized the serving of the arrest warrant<\/strong><strong> .<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hernandez and Mendoza have been detained at the Senate since last year after being cited for contempt by senators.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The duo were co-accused of former Sen. Ramon \u201cBong\u201d Revilla Jr. in a graft and malversation of public funds case filed before \u00a0the Sandiganbayan<\/strong><strong> in connection with the alleged P92.8 million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Also respondents in the case are\u00a0 f<\/strong><strong>ormer DPWH Bulacan 1<sup>st<\/sup> District Engineering Office engineer Arjay Domasig.
