Palola on January 18 when he received an information that bombs were buried near a large fallen tree in the cemetery.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Army reservist and his companions immediately checked the area and found a total of 120 hand grenades buried underground near the fallen tree. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The ordnance was immediately secured and the surrounding area was cleared to ensure the safety of cemetery visitors, the Army said in a statement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Authorities were notified, and coordination was made with an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) battalion, whose personnel later arrived to assess and take custody of the recovered grenades.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>An investigation is ongoing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A CACHE of live hand grenades was discovered buried in a public cemetery in Lucban, Quezon.
