A FILIPINA caregiver was killed in an airstrike in Israel.<\/strong><\/p>\n President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., in a video message, on Sunday night oonfirmed the death of 32-year-old Mary Anne Velazquez Rivera of Pangasinan who was struck by shrapnel while helping her ward reach a bomb shelter in Israel.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIkinalulungkot ko na meron po tayong natanggap na report na meron na pong casualty na Pilipino dito po sa giyera na nangyayari po sa Middle East. Nareport po sa atin ay namatay po ang isang Mary Anne Velazquez Rivera na taga-Pangasinan,\u201d the President said.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cSiya po ay isang caregiver sa Israel na tinutulungan ang kanyang alaga para dalhin sa bomb shelter ngunit hindi na po naka-abot sa bomb shelter at inabutan na sila bago sila nakarating. Siya ay namatay dahil tinamaan ng shrapnel ng mga bumagsak na bomba,\u201d President Marcos added.<\/strong><\/p>\n The President said the victim has been identified by her husband, who is also an overseas Filipino worker employed in Israel,\u201d the President noted. \u201cNa-identify na po siya ng kanyang asawa na isang OFW din na nagtatrabaho sa Israel.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Marcos assured the bereaved family that the government will extend all necessary assistance, including financial aid and other support they may require during this difficult time.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cLahat po ng tulong na kakailanganin ng kanilang pamilya ay ihahatid ng ating pamahalaan,\u201d the President emphasized.<\/strong><\/p>\n Earlier, President Marcos said Filipinos in the Middle East have been moved to safe locations, with many taking shelter in designated bomb shelters, as the Philippine government continues to receive and monitor situation reports from the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n The President likewise said authorities remain on heightened alert as tensions persist in the region, emphasizing that the government is closely tracking developments to safeguard Filipinos still in affected areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cPatuloy po ang ating pag-monitor sa kalagayan ng ating kababayan na nasa gitna nitong gyera dahil patuloy pa rin sa Middle East.
