{"id":19387,"date":"2026-03-31T01:09:48","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T17:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=19387"},"modified":"2026-03-31T01:09:48","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T17:09:48","slug":"gatchalian-calls-on-doe-dti-to-consider-lpg-price-cap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/03\/31\/gatchalian-calls-on-doe-dti-to-consider-lpg-price-cap\/","title":{"rendered":"GATCHALIAN CALLS ON DOE, DTI TO CONSIDER LPG PRICE CAP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SENATOR Sherwin Gatchalian on Saturday called on the Department of Energy (DoE) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to consider imposing a price cap on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) amid the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe impending increase in the price of LPG by P35 to P40 per 11-kg cylinder by April to reach record levels is an added financial burden on ordinary Filipino consumers and small business owners,\u201d Gatchalian, <\/strong><strong>chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and the PROTECT Committee<\/strong><strong>, said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The senator urged the DOE and the DTI to ensure adequate supply, strictly monitor market pricing, and, if price increases are unwarranted, consider imposing a price ceiling on LPG as a prescribed measure against undue price increases during emergency situations provided under RA 10623 or An Act amending certain provisions of the Price Act (RA 7581) to protect consumers.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAng LPG ay pangunahing pangangailangan sa bawat tahanan at maliliit na negosyo tulad ng mga karinderya.
