{"id":19447,"date":"2026-04-03T00:57:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T16:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=19447"},"modified":"2026-04-03T00:57:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T16:57:12","slug":"no-price-increases-on-basic-goods-until-april-16-dti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/04\/03\/no-price-increases-on-basic-goods-until-april-16-dti\/","title":{"rendered":"NO PRICE INCREASES ON BASIC GOODS UNTIL APRIL 16\u00a0 &#8212; DTI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured that prices of basic goods will remain unchanged until April 16, following an agreement with manufacturers under the government\u2019s Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the DTI had earlier met with major manufacturers who committed to keep prices stable.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A list of products covered by the agreement will be released by UPLIFT for public information.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cNakausap po natin kahapon si Secretary Cris Roque, at nag-report po siya sa Pangulo sa UPLIFT,\u201d Castro said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cNangako po ang mga manufacturer na hindi nga po magkakaroon ng price increase hanggang April 16, 2026,\u201d she added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Castro said the DTI also vowed to conduct weekly monitoring of basic commodity prices, noting that DTI Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque is set to meet again with manufacturers to ensure price stability, particularly amid rising oil prices due to tensions in the Middle East.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cNangako rin po si Secretary Cris Roque na weekly ay magmo-monitor po sila.
