Kiko Barzaga on Monday night surrendered to the police after a court in Makati City issued a warrant for his arrest in connection with the cyber libel cases files against him.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The lawmaker yielded to Dasmari\u00f1as Component City Police Station OIC Lt. Col. Mac Arthur Mercader at 6:59 p.m. on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Earlier, the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 147 issued a warrant of arrest against Barzaga, who is facing eight counts of cyber libel cases.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The warrant, signed by Presiding Judge Karla Regina D. Valera-Chua, stated that the charges stem from an alleged violation of Section 4(c)(4) of Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{&quot;n&quot;:&quot;blueLinks&quot;,&quot;t&quot;:13,&quot;a&quot;:&quot;click&quot;,&quot;b&quot;:76}\"><strong>A bail was set at P48,000 per count.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The lawmaker posted bail at 10:25 p.m. of the same day and left the Cavite police station.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Barzaga had earlier been suspended by the House of Representatives for disorderly behavior.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CAVITE 4th district Rep.
