Gen. Randulf T. Tua\u00f1o said removed from their posts were the director of the Pangasinan PPO with the rank of Colonel as well as five Lieutenant Colonels, three Majors and two Captains. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Lt. Colonels were local chiefs of police.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tua\u00f1o said that PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. directed all commanders to conduct an administrative and operational review of their men.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Police Regional Office 1 clarifies that the recent relief of several police officers from their respective posts is a Standard Operating Procedure of the Philippine National Police.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PRO1 director Brig. Gen. Dindo R. Reyes said that to maintain the continuity of public service, PRO1 has designated their replacements and will conduct a thorough investigation on the matter. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He said the actions will ensure that administrative functions and field operations of the affected office and police stations remain unhampered while upholding accountability and transparency,.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last week, PRO4-A director Brig. Gen. Hansel M. Marantan also ordered the relief of the chiefs of police of San Pedro City, Bi\u00f1an City and Bay municipality in Laguna for the same reason as he warned \u201cunderperforming\u201d PRO4-A officials they will face relief too with many waiting in the wings to replace them any time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tua\u00f1o said the operational and administrative accomplishments of all police commanders, including their effort regarding the Safer Cities program of the DILG-PNP are being reviewed on orders of Nartatez.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He said the review includes their accomplishments in the campaign against the eight focus crimes, loose firearms, illegal drugs and gambling and wanted persons as well as in implementing the Safer Cities program to keep the streets safe round-the-clock.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The official also said that they <\/strong><strong>welcome the support of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in the campaign against criminality even as Nartatez has ordered a <\/strong><strong>comparative review of the accomplishments of his field commanders regularly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The PNP leadership also\u00a0<\/strong><strong>reminded anew all unit heads, regional directors, and provincial leaders to strictly undertake a review of their operational and administrative accomplishments under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations of the PNP Focus Agenda, following recent instances of relief actions within some units.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The reminder reinforces earlier directives aimed at ensuring that all offices remain aligned with performance expectations and continue to deliver measurable results in key policing priorities nationwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ELEVEN officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) assigned in Pangasinan and three in Laguna were administratively relieved from their posts over underperformance.
