{"id":20127,"date":"2026-05-20T03:18:39","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T19:18:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=20127"},"modified":"2026-05-20T03:18:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T19:18:39","slug":"pro3-records-39-crime-drop-in-central-luzon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/05\/20\/pro3-records-39-crime-drop-in-central-luzon\/","title":{"rendered":"PRO3 RECORDS 39% CRIME DROP IN CENTRAL LUZON"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BY KEVIN GALANG<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga \u2014 The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) reported a significant decline in focus crime incidents across Central Luzon from May 11 to 17 despite rotational power interruptions that affected several areas in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\"><strong><span style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\">Data from the PRO3 showed that focus crime incidents fell by 39.06 percent, with cases dropping from 64 recorded between May 4 and 10 to only 39 incidents during the succeeding week or a decrease of 25 cases.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\"><strong><span style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\">Authorities attributed the reduction to intensified police visibility and sustained anti-criminality operations implemented throughout the region, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours when brownouts were most prevalent.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\"><strong><span style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\">To strengthen public safety and prevent possible criminal activities during the outages, police units increased the deployment of bike patrols, mobile patrols, foot patrols, and checkpoint operations in strategic areas, including crime-prone communities, commercial districts, major thoroughfares, and residential neighborhoods affected by low visibility.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\"><strong><span style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\">According to PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, the immediate adjustments made by police units and up heightened visibility on the ground helped maintain peace and order despite the temporary power disruptions.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\"><strong><span style=\"font-style: revert-layer; font-weight: revert-layer;\">\u201cWe anticipated possible security concerns due to the rotational brownouts, prompting our police units to immediately intensify patrol and checkpoint operations, especially during late-night hours.
