POLICE on Sunday announced that guns and liquors are banned for three days in the city of Manila during the Traslacion 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the directive is part of security preparations for the Feast of the Black Nazarene on Tuesday, January 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He said all permits to carry firearms outside of residence were ordered suspended<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nartatez said gun ban within the capital city will be implemented from 7 a.m. of Jan. 8 to 7 a.m. of Jan. 10. to ensure the safety of millions of devotees and observers.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The prohibition on the use of drones, which is part of the \u201cno fly zone\u201d policy, took effect Sunday and will last until Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The South Harbor and Pasig River, including near the Quirino Grandstand where the \u201cTraslacion\u201d procession will start, are \u201cno sail zones\u201d from Jan. 6 to 10.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The official said that the liquor ban will also be observed within Manila effective 12:01 a.m. of Jan. 8 to 12:01 a.m. of Jan. 10.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A total of 15,276 policemen \u00a0are deployed to secure the Traslacion.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nartatez said vendors are not allowed within the vicinity of Quiapo Church during the occasion.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He added that also prohibited are the use of hoodie jackets, caps, backpacks, water bottles, umbrellas, and raincoats; firecrackers or pyrotechnics and deadly or bladed weapons; and intoxication.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" POLICE on Sunday announced that guns and liquors are banned for three days in the city of Manila during the Traslacion 2024.
