{"id":3269,"date":"2024-01-17T15:45:28","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T07:45:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=3269"},"modified":"2024-01-17T15:45:31","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T07:45:31","slug":"26-bir-officials-suspended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2024\/01\/17\/26-bir-officials-suspended\/","title":{"rendered":"26 BIR OFFICIALS SUSPENDED"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>BUREAU of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. has ordered the suspension of 26 officials and employees of the agency.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lumagui said the 26 are facing charges for grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, gross neglect of duty, violation of reasonable office rules and regulations, violation of the Anti-Red Tape Act of 1997 and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to Lumagui, his mission is to have an agency filled with professionals who have integrity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe suspension of 26 BIR officials shows our commitment to the Filipino people. You deserve only the best in public service,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe BIR will continue to create a culture of professionalism and integrity under my watch,\u201d the BIR commissioner added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The BIR filed charges with preventive suspension orders against 21 employees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Of the total number of charges, 18 were implemented and three were due for implementation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>BIR has also penalized five employees, bringing the total suspended employees to 26.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BUREAU of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. has ordered the suspension of 26 officials and employees of the agency.
