NINE alleged members of the terrorist group Dawlah Islamiyah-Maute on Thursday were killed in a firefight with government troopers in Piagapo, Lanao del Sur, the Philippine Army (PA) said Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The PA identified eight of the slain terrorists as alias \u201cImam,\u201d alias \u201cOmar,\u201d alias \u201cMikdad,\u201d alias \u201cAbdullah,\u201d alias \u201cMuhajeer,\u201d alias \u201cHamza,\u201d alias \u201cMauwiyah,\u201d and alias \u201cMohaimen.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Four soldiers were also wounded in the two-hour gunbattle.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Soldiers f<\/strong>rom the PA\u2019s 103rd Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division <\/strong>were conducting operation in Bgy. Tapurog in Piagapo when they met around 15 suspected terrorists led by alias \u201cMahater,\u201d together with alias \u201cEngineer,\u201d alias \u201cOmar\u201d and alias \u201cKhatab.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The suspects were allegedly the perpetrators of the bombing at the M<\/strong>indanao State University on December 3, 2023, where four people were killed.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n An encounter ensued that left nine terror group members dead.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The wounded soldiers were brought to Amai Pakpak Medical Center for medical treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Brig. Gen.
