{"id":3535,"date":"2024-01-29T22:30:25","date_gmt":"2024-01-29T14:30:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=3535"},"modified":"2024-01-29T22:30:26","modified_gmt":"2024-01-29T14:30:26","slug":"quiapo-church-is-officially-a-national-shrine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2024\/01\/29\/quiapo-church-is-officially-a-national-shrine\/","title":{"rendered":"QUIAPO CHURCH IS OFFICIALLY A NATIONAL SHRINE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>QUIAPO church in Manila also known as the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of the Black Nazarene was officially declared as a national shrine Monday, January 29, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Catholic Bishops&#8217; Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) approved the petition to elevate the church as the 29th national shrine of the Philippines in its 126th Plenary Assembly in Aklan last July 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>On December 14, the church received the official decree of the elevation of the national shrine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>On January 29, 2024, the end of the CBCP\u2019s&nbsp; 127<sup>th<\/sup> Plenary Assembly in Manila, the shrine\u2019s solemn declaration was held in a mass presided by Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The church will now be officially recognized as the &#8220;National Shrine of the Black Nazarene,&#8221; in addition to its other titles &#8211; Minor Basilica and Archdiocesan Shrine of the Black Nazarene, as well as its original canonical name, Saint John the Baptist Parish.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Advincula, together with Fr.
